Creative Living

Creativity is a tricky, tricky little rascal, that has the power to make you feel euphoric or to sweep you into the abyss of creative despair - that dark depressing place where all good ideas go to die.

You can spend hours, days, weeks, and years waiting for that perfect idea to appear and formulate completely, oftentimes it never shows up and when it does it's sometimes tragically disappointing (cue little violins please).

For many of us, we hold within a seemingly endless depository of ideas that can be original in nature and design or an improvement on something already established.

It can cause endless frustration hoarding all of these untapped creative ideas around day after day. It is this very concept that was the foundation stone for the creation of Violet Matters.

You could say that Violet Matters is the dumping ground for all of our creative ideas. This is our 'think tank' space. Like many others, we reached a point in our life journey where we were beginning to trade out mind space with regrets rather than ideas. Mark Twain once wrote:

"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover."

You reach a point where the fear of not doing something actually outweighs the fear of doing something.

Violet Matters is the result of this thinking & the global pandemic has solidified the importance of living our lives to the fullest with no regrets. We had waited a lifetime to reach for what we always knew would make us happy.

Today, we bounce out of bed each day overflowing with motivation, passion, and drive to make our dreams, our ideas into a living breathing thing of wonder.

It's not about striking it rich or material gain - this is a soul journey of the utmost value and importance that surpasses mere material reward. Mind you, some material reward is helpful (cause mama loves to pay her bills, and crafting supplies sure ain’t cheap!) but it is so much more, richer than the cha-ching of wealth. Mmmm… what’s that I smell?..... freedom!

Until next time, take care, keep safe & do something creative every day.
